An Individual Champion is committed to advancing women in engineering, applied science and technology. As volunteers, they will take action to promote associated events and projects within their economic region and work closely with the Regional Coordinator.
INDIVIDUALS CHAMPION COMMITMENTS
Education

Encourage allyship and mentorship between students and engineering and applied science professionals.

Educate staff, instructors, and individuals on sensitivities and barriers facing women in STEM industries.
Retention and Advancement

Develop onboarding procedures for women that have been away from the organization for an extended leave, including processes such as pre-training prior to full-time return, gradual entry, etc.

Encourage and support allyship and mentorship opportunities and programs; these programs maybe employer sponsored programs or existing programs that are offered through various organizations.
