University of Victoria’s Science Venture

UVic’s Science Venture is a non-profit organization that offers hands-on, minds-on science, engineering and technology learning opportunities for youth entering grades 1 through 12. Science Venture delivers innovative science, technology, engineering, and math programming to Vancouver Island youth, 5-18 years of age. Programming includes workshops, after school clubs, summer camps, and events – all designed to stimulate the interest and passion for these subject areas.

University of Victoria’s Indigenous STEM program is a reciprocal partnership between Indigenous communities and groups and the University of Victoria’s Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement (IACE), Faculties of Science & Engineering, and Science Venture, to address the gap in scientific literacy by engaging Indigenous youth in STEM and encouraging them to pursue these fields as a career choice. Working with organizations and friendship centres, the Program offers school science clubs, spring/summer break camps, and events in various Indigenous communities.
